Shape Society Health Initiative (SSHI), formerly known as Shape African Health, is a registered non-governmental and non-political organisation focused on improving public health outcomes through youth engagement, capacity development, and community action. SSHI empowers young health professionals through training, debates, peer research writing, and sustainable interventions that promote healthier societies.
Health inequities persist across Africa and Nigeria due to weak systems, limited preventive care, and inadequate youth engagement in health leadership. SSHI was founded to fill this gap by fostering a culture of active learning and community service among young health professionals. The organisation operates on the belief that empowering youth with evidence-based knowledge and leadership skills accelerates progress toward universal health coverage (UHC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
